Working Principle
The working principle of the D-type horizontal multistage centrifugal pump is based on centrifugal force and the cumulative addition of energy.   • Centrifugal Force and Energy Conversion: When the motor drives the impellers on the pump shaft to rotate at high speed, the liquid within the impellers is thrown from the center toward the outer edges by centrifugal force. During this process, both the velocity and pressure energy of the liquid increase.
  • Flow Guidance and Pressure Boosting: High-pressure liquid exiting a given impeller stage is collected by a stationary diffuser (guide vane) and directed to the inlet of the next impeller stage.
  • Progressive Energy Accumulation: The liquid flows sequentially through all impellers and diffusers; each impeller stage performs work on the liquid, cumulatively increasing its energy. Ultimately, the required high discharge head is achieved at the pump outlet.
  • Axial Force Balancing: Due to unequal pressure distribution on the front and rear shrouds of the impellers, an axial force directed toward the suction inlet is generated during operation.
