Operational Principle

Measurable and Non-Measurable Media

Turbine flow meters require fluids to be clean (or substantially clean), single-phase, or low-viscosity. Examples of commonly used fluids include:

  • General fluids: water, air, oxygen, high-pressure hydrogen, milk, coffee, etc.;
  • Petrochemical fluids: gasoline, light oil, jet fuel, light diesel oil, naphtha, ethylene, polyethylene, styrene, liquefied petroleum gas, carbon dioxide, and natural gas;
  • Chemical solutions: ammonia, methanol, brine, etc.;
  • Organic liquids: alcohol, ether, benzene, toluene, xylene, butadiene, carbon tetrachloride, methylamine, acrylonitrile, etc.;
  • Inorganic liquids: formaldehyde, acetic acid, caustic soda, carbon disulfide, etc.
  • For corrosive media, careful material selection is crucial. Fluids containing many impurities or those with abrasive properties are not recommended.
Application industries
Major industries for turbine flow meters include petroleum, chemical processing, water treatment, aerospace, power generation, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, HVAC, automotive, mining, oil and gas distribution, and laboratory testing.
